Streamlining Smiles: The Distinct Advantages of Same-Day Crowns

Most people don’t look forward to dentist visits, but keeping your mouth healthy is key to your overall health. At Houston Dentists at Post Oak, we do everything we can to make your time here calm and easy. That’s why Dr. Pigneri and his team proudly offer same-day crowns – no more waiting weeks or juggling multiple appointments. As Dr. Pigneri says, “the benefits of same-day crowns are immense.” You get the care you need without the hassle.

With same-day crowns, the whole process – from quick digital impressions to placing your crown – happens in just one visit. No temporary crowns, no long delays, and no repeat trips. It’s the perfect choice for anyone with a busy schedule who still wants to protect their smile. Take charge of your oral health today with our in-office services – and walk out with results you’ll feel good about.

When considering if same-day dental crowns are the right fit for you, it is good to know that dental crowns are commonly applied to:

  • Repair. Chipped, cracked, and decayed teeth can be repaired by restoring the damaged tooth with a porcelain dental crown.
  • Restore. Misshapen, discolored, and stained teeth can be restored with same-day dental crowns for a brilliant and symmetrical smile.
  • Reinforce. Teeth that have undergone root canals or have been otherwise weakened can be reinforced with dental crowns.
  • Replace. Implants restored with crowns and bridges may be included to replace missing teeth for support and appearance. However, please note that crowns for implants and bridges are fabricated offsite, requiring a second visit.

The process of obtaining same-day crowns begins with a consultation, and then a mapping of the teeth through digital impressions. As patient comfort is a top priority for Houston Dentists at Post Oak, instead of the uncomfortable traditional molds, we use a digital scanner to create a precise impression of the patient’s teeth. The scans will then be archived for later reference.

Once the digital impression is obtained, our team will begin the fabrication process with our on-site milling machine! Each fabrication is fully customized to match the patient’s natural teeth in terms of shape, size, and color. This level of customization allows for a seamless integration of the crown into the patient’s smile, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

As the entire process is completed in one visit, a distinct advantage of same-day crowns is the elimination of temporary crowns. Traditional crown procedures often involve the placement of temporary crowns while the permanent ones are being fabricated. These temporaries may be uncomfortable, prone to damage, and aesthetically subpar. With same-day crowns, patients avoid the hassle of temporary restorations altogether.

Same-day crowns are a remarkable evolution in dental care and a stunning solution to enhancing your smile. At  Houston Dentists at Post Oak, our goal is to make your next dental visit an enjoyable one that is as stress-free as possible!
